Reflections
Sprung
This week the plants explode in flowers. There’s the ocatia cactus, which first catches my eye with its showy red blooms. But the desert willos is also covered in blossoms that attract bees, smaller insects, and hummingbirds. Other smaller plants follow suit — what would be weeds in other seasons erupt in purples, pinks, and yellows. Even the Icelandic poppy (an annual) has overwintered somehow and is perking up.
